Good Company Asked to Brief PUCT

Good Company President Bob King was asked to brief the PUCT on the likely impacts and benefits of increasing the state's energy efficiency goals. After the presentation was made, a second filing was made to reconcile program goal and cost projections with those presented by the utilities and retail electric providers at the hearing.

June 25th, ERCOT in the News:
ERCOT appointed a committee Chair and Vice Chair for a new ERCOT Energy Storage Working Group. The Chair will come from NextEra, and Praveen Kathpal of AES, one of our TESA members, was designated Vice Chair. A date was not yet set for the group's first meeting, although that is expected soon.

Austin Energy Rebates, Loans, and Incentives

Austin Energy offers a variety of rebates, loans, and incentives to its customers. More information is available from Austin Energy.

Solar PV Rebate Program

Austin Energy has traditionally offered one of the nation’s most generous rebate programs to help customers implement solar photovoltaic technology in their homes and businesses.  Since 2004 it has provided more than $18 million in solar rebates, resulting in the installation of more than 900 rooftop solar installations in Austin, totaling more than three megawatts of solar capacity. 


Solar Water Heating Rebate

Solar water heaters are a cost-effective and environmentally responsible alternative to conventional methods of producing hot water.  Based on a typical system, you can expect a total net savings of $2,250 to $3,000.


Solar Loan Program

Low-cost, low-interest loans are available to purchase and install solar electric power systems to residential customers with single-family residences. 


Home Performance with ENERGY STAR ™ - Rebates and Loans

Rebates and low interest loans are available for certain items, including high-efficiency air conditioners, heat pumps, duct sealing, solar screens, window films, low-E glass windows, insulation, caulking, and weather stripping.


Pool Pump & Motor Rebate

Rebates are available for qualified variable-speed pumps and motors.


Power Saver Volunteer

Power Saver Volunteers agree to be contacted by Austin Energy up to ten times during the summer and be asked to use less electricity between 3:00 pm and 7:00 pm.


Free Power Partner Thermostats

Power Partners receive a free programmable thermostat plus free installation and warranty, a $200 to $280 value.


Refrigerator Recycling

Cash incentives are available for certain refrigerators and freezers ($50 per unit for single-family home customers and $35 per unit for apartment communities with four or more dwellings).


Free Home Energy Improvements Program

Austin Energy offers free home-energy improvements to qualified customers with low-to-moderate incomes.


Additional ENERGY STAR® Sales Tax Holiday Rebates

Austin Energy customers may be eligible for refrigerator and air conditioner rebates in addition to the tax savings provided by the State on this holiday.


Multi-Family Energy Efficiency Rebate Program

The Austin Energy Multi-Family offering provides cash rebates for making energy efficiency improvements to apartment and other multi-family properties.

Austin Energy provides a wide range of rebates and incentives to commercial and business customers, including rebates and incentives for:


Small Business Energy Efficiency Rebate Program

Austin Energy’s Small Business Rebates help qualified small-to-midsize and not-for-profit organizations implement a variety of energy efficiency measures. Every commercial rebate is available to small business customers. In addition to the standard commercial rebate, small business customers will receive another 30 percent bonus rebate. Small businesses also qualify for a lighting program that covers up to 70 percent of installed cost.


Data Center Rebates

Data Center Efficiency Rebates are available on retrofitted server virtualization, Massive Array Idle Disc (MAID) storage systems, Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPSs), chillers/cooling towers , thermal energy storage systems, and a variety of custom technologies.  The Rebate covers a range of data centers, including: enterprise centers, corporate centers, and server closets.
